Annoying rattle at idle
Sounds like its coming from the area around the serpintine belt, only does it at idle in park or drive, when i give it gas it runs perfect and no rattle. Im getting no error codes from the comp. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Re: Annoying rattle at idle
Check the belt tensioner first. If there is no noise there you may have a problem with the harmonic balancer on the front of the engine. There is a rubber separator between the outer and inner ring. If they go bad they will rattle. The only way to fix it is to change it. I would put my money on the tensioner.

Re: Annoying rattle at idle
Thanks, I searched another forum, T-type buicks, and came up with harmonic balancer/crank pulley too , but i think the tensioner deserves a look as well and would be easier to fix.
