Re: Mass air flow sensor

The only sensor I know of there, is the MAP(Manifold Absolute Pressure)Sensor.
Don't recall a Mass Air Flow sensor on the 3.8 Chrysler engines. I think MAF is just a calculated value in those. Would not be surprised though, for someone to prove me a dummy.

Re: Mass air flow sensor

Thanks guys. Hadn't pulled it apart yet and wanted to make sure of the relative position since it isn't as apparent as on our car.

Best regards...

They no have one. As said they only have a map sensor.
Why are you looking for it?
Got a problem?

Re: Mass air flow sensor

Was going to clean the MAFS on the car and the van at the same time but couldn't find any indication of it in the air intake to the throttle body. The service manual CD lists a connection but no placement, which stands to reason if there isn't any.

No trouble. This van has been absolutely problem free.

Thanks again............

Re: Mass air flow sensor

Unless something has changed in the last couple of years, Dodge/Chrysler vehicles don't have a MAF sensor. They use speed/density calculations based mostly on the MAP sensor and engine RPM.
