Re: 1994grand caravan heater problem

Either hot water is not getting to the heater core or the flap door that exposes the heater core to the cabin is stuck shut.

To confirm the flap door motor is ok your need a schematic and access to the connector on the back of the ventilation control panel. I'm thinking to confirm you're getting hot water to the heater core you may be able to feel the core housing fror heat. Not sure.

Don't know if it applies to 94s but there is a self test feature on the ventilation control panel. You'll find it on several threads in the forum. It will give an indication the flap door motor is moving but, it's not fool proof.

Have you resolved this problem?

My problem is that the heat works for a few minutes then just blows room temp air.

Re: 1994grand caravan heater problem

When I have a heater problem, I always flush the engine and change the coolant. Try getting a prestone back flush kit (you'll use a garden hose as well) and get a bottle of radiator flush. One suggestion, don't get the super rust removing flush. I've heard of lots of sad stores of people taking out all the rust and ending up with a radiator leak. So I do a low grade flush twice.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,
Stan

Re: 1994grand caravan heater problem

The opposite could be true. If you use the super rust flush and get a lot of rust it's time to change the radiator. Good tool?
