rear end leaking
i noticed a small puddle of oil after my rig was sitting for a while. It was directly under the rear end. I smelled it and it smelled like my dirt bike oil which is 80 weight, same as a rear end. Then i looked under it today, and it's leaking from the front of the rear end, where the shaft goes into. Any one know how much this is to replace and what i need for parts?

Re: rear end leaking
That would be the only thing I can think of. I agree, I hate that kind of work and would gladly pay someone else.

Hell, I'll change it for you for $50 + parts. Takes all of an hour to do it.

Re: rear end leaking
As long as you have a strong impact gun. Changing a pinion seal is a snap.

Re: rear end leaking
No one likes easy these days huh. 1.5 literal seconds with my earthquake 650lb impact gun and that pinion nuts off. Leaving the rest of the 10 - 15 minutes of playing around with it to you guys polishing your "muscle" or breaker bar
.

Re: rear end leaking
Until they break. You'd think, a Husky compressor bought at Home Depot, belt breaks, you'd get a belt from them right? No, of course not the jerks.

Re: rear end leaking
No belt on mine. Infact, not even any oil to change. 3 years strong and still making that 6 horsepower and 150PSI and delivering the CFM to drive everything from my 10 inch orbital sander to my paint sprayer.

Re: rear end leaking
You know, I have no idea. I never investigated the internal working of the thing. I just know it does not have any exposed external belt like a older unit I have and it always delivers up to 150PSI within a matter of a few secs and it is obviously making some power cause it can drive my 10 inch orbital sander at 90PSI without it slowing down to a near stop cause my old 4.5 horsepower unit with a 10 gallon tank use to drive the sander for like 35 secs then it was dead and had to stop for a minute so it could recharge.
