Re: instrument cluster problems

Have you checked the illumination bulbs for the fuel guage and for the light switch?

Re: instrument cluster problems

What year is your Explorer? Specifics may vary from year-to-year.

The bulb for the headlight switch will be accessed once the swtich assembly is removed from the dash. There will likely be a small plug like round plastic piece with a slot in the center. Use a flat blade screwdriver to turn the "plug" 1/4 to 1/2 turn counterclockwise. Once it comes to the stop, then pull the plug out. The bulb will be installed in this plug.

The bulb for the fuel guage will be installed in the instrument cluster and you will most likely need to pull the instrument cluster to access it. The bulb will be installed in a similar fashion to the headlight switch, but at a larger scale.
