Re: turbos in autocross

i autox a turbo car, but it's a stock setup turbo so... not very laggy. if you have the option to turbo or supercharge your engine... and want to do something for more power, i'd say get either a supercharger or ball bearing turbo (garret GT series) respectively.

the more effective way to go fast though: sign up for an evolution school near you.

Re: turbos in autocross

Depends on the engine. Sometimes the turbo is the way to go, sometimes the supercharger. If you keep the engine in the high RPMs (which you should be doing anyway) you'll have all the boost you could ask for, depending on your setup. FMIC will cause a little lag, but not so much that it wouldn't make it worth your while.

Re: turbos in autocross

It seems like we are really short on information here. What kind of car, what class are you shooting for and what have you alread done to this car. Horsepower is not what wins autocrosses most of the time. Tires, suspension and brakes are all at least as important as the power. Tell us some more about your car so we can give a little more specific information.
