Nah, im tring to do it whilst the motor is still in the car, i can't get ahold of an engine hoist at this time... Is it possible to rebuild without pulling the motor?

Re: Started the rebuild today!S

Im just tring to get this running so i can sell it, im not tring to rebuild it to boost or anything... It still needs to be done right but its not going to be raced after this so yeah... Should I really just wait and pull the motor tommarow? That will take an extra day tho and i need this done by saturday night, possibly sunday.

that rebuild will be LOADS faster with the motor out of the car, just wait the one day.

Re: Started the rebuild today!S

Also if you could define what you mean by "rebuild". The whole nine yards: getting the block stripped, sent to a machine shop, head refurbished, new everything?

Or are you just pulling it because you're changing rod bearings or something.

Anyway, since it seems you don't know what you're doing, before you do ANYTHING, and I mean, ANYTHING else, go buy a factory service manual.

Then, if I were you, I would say screw rebuilding the KA and go buy a used one for $600 or whatever they go for in your area and put that in the car.

How much are you guys paying for a decent KA motor anyway?

Re: Started the rebuild today!S

I just want to see what happens next. He says he can do it in a day.

If he already has the parts...well I'm still not sure how much work he's doing but Broke suggested something good, replacing the engine.
