Recurring DTC

I have a 1995 F250 4x4 AOD, I had a problem that I couldn't figure so I took it to the dealer for repair. They found a code 212 in memory, loss of spout signal. They replaced the hall sensor in the distributor and the ICM on the fender. The truck ran fine for a while and now it's acting the same as before. It idles rough, no power, poor gas mileage and seems to run a little warmer. I checked for trouble codes myself and had a code 212 and 172. I know that 212 will cause the engine to go into limp mode, but will it cause the engine to run lean as well? I cleared the codes and the truck is running good again. Is it possible that the PCM is going bad or do I have an intermittant loss of spout signal. The truck sits a lot, it only has 68,000K miles on it. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I should take it back to the dealer since I paid for the repair and it seems to be having the same problem again.

Re: Recurring DTC

check your spout plug for your timing see if its corroded. the next time code 212 comes on use a timing light to see if your ignition timing is at base 10-12 deg. 172 is an o2 sensor lean condition.

Re: Recurring DTC

take it back to the dealer. they did not fix the root cause(problem). you may get them to fix it correctly for free(you may have to pay for a different part but Id expect to not pay any labor at least) also depending on what they find if its related to what they already replaced and your up to snuff on the subject they cant pull one over on you. you should get that part fro free too. good luck
