Painting R34 tail light HELP please.

I have this TAMIYA Skyline R34 model. On the instruction, it says to paint the tail light with X27 (Clear Red), but i was thinking to paint it with X12 (Gold Leaf), because i couldnt find X27 paint anywhere. Is it Ok to paint it with Gold Leaf instead of Clear Red? Or will the gold color ruin the details of the tail light?

How did you come to select X12 Gold as a potential substitute?

Alternatively, you can leave the clear parts as is, but paint the center of the bezels with red, claim that it represents the LED.

The 2nd row, 2nd from the left is the kind of upgrade I'm talking about.

thanks hiroaki, i might have to wait then until i can find red color.
btw, i didnt mean to substitute red with gold, i just happened to have unused gold. So i thought of painting it gold.

Sadly no Gold wouldnt quite look right....either order X-27 or go with the good LED suggestion!

try red artline or sharpie permanent markers they are great alternatives for clear red and easy to use.
