3.4l

Can someone list all the GM vehicles that came with the 3.4L pushrod that is a direct replacement for the 2.8

So Far I have:

Pontiac Trans Sport
92.5-95 Camaro
92.5-95 Firebird/Trans AM

One outta three ain't bad! Trans Sport, Silohuette(sp?) and the Chevy version FWD mini-van had 3.4 that WILL fit. The RWD cars use a different block.

The shortblock portion of any FWD car can be made to fit, with minor changes. You must use the heads and induction/exhaust from the 2.8. Yes, they WILL fit. Actually, the heads are the same castings, 2.8, 3.1 and 3.4. They control compression with the size of the "dish" in the piston. Aluminum heads have a much smaller chamber, therefore a much larger dish. Fiero uses iron heads ONLY, so you need to use the appropriate pistons or power will not be where you want it.

Regardless, your Fiero intake system and exhaust must be used. I've been advised, porting the plenum, runners and intake ports will make a HUGE difference in power output when using 3.4. Makes sense. Bigger engine NEEDS more "in and out".
