92 Accord front upper control arm ball joint boot
Hi,
The boots on the upper control arms both cracked and grease came out. I believe it's been some time before I found it. Does anyone have experience replacing the boots? Also, a tire shop damaged one wheel stud on front. The nut wont go in anymore. I would like to replace it. I heard I need to take the whole steering knuckle off. Is this true? Any help is appreciated. |

Re: 92 Accord front upper control arm ball joint boot
1. As far as I know, 92 Accord has the upper arm as one piece. I know it's a dumb design, but there is no way you can just replace the boot. Replace the whole arm!! Later models has the boots separated from the arm. Your best bet is just keep driving until the ball joints are bad enough then replace the arms.
2. Wheel stud on 92 Accord, as well as the front rotor, are bad designs too. You need to take the whole knuckle off, push the hub out, take the rotor off, then push the stud out. Couple hours worth of task. Good luck. |
