Smile Explorer Rear Brake Procedure

Hello, I have never done a brake job before and was wondering if there is a rear brake pad and rotor step by step procedure somewhere? I don't want to have to pay someone $500 to do it. Thanks for your help in advance. Scott

P.S. I have a 2002 E.B. V8 Explorer.

Re: Explorer Rear Brake Procedure

Well, if you are fairly mechanically inclined, the disc brake systems are actually quite simple, generally. You could probably figure it out on your own, depending on your background and experience.

However, you really should pick up a service manual for your truck, either through www.alldatadiy.com, www.autozone.com -> repair section, or by picking up a Chilton or Haynes manual. Your local library may have service manuals for your vehicle as well. These will be specific to the type of system used on your vehicle. For a DIY'er, they are pretty much another essential and basic tool.
