Fixed CAI

As you read earlier this week, I installed a full CAI and within a day or 2 I ran through a huge puddle and almost killed the car. Well, today I decided to cut up the pipe and shorten it. So instead of it being right above the splash sheild, it's now sitting behind the radiator. Still has great flow, but lot as low now. The piping is also a little smoother now too. Not as many bends and all. I love hacksaws.

I was bored and was trying out pictures with my new LG CU500!

Nice, I use to clean my Rs engine all the time, then one day after I clean ( engine degrease, and water ) my car did not start, turn out my alternator is shit. From that day I never clean my engine again.

Good deal. You shouldn't have any problems, but I think you would have been ok with how it was before as long as you were really careful.

My engine bay is pretty clean also...haha

Yeah, I didn't feel like being really careful. haha. Had that scare last saturday, and don't want another one this saturday. Better safe than sorry. It's still low. Just not as low and not laying down like it was before.

Those suck. They rob you of performance. And they're overly pricey.

Supposedly those things suck to a point where any performance from a full CAI is lost bc of them. I don't know how they're made, but it seems that since it has a place for water to collect or go, that the pipe is no longer fully straight and smooth. It'll break apart so the water has someplace to go.

Hmm. Everything I've heard says they are nothing but good, and I trust AEM but whatever I'm not a N/A guy so you would know better.

Of course I know better... haha. Just kidding, man! The filter isn't low enough anymore to even bother with one now. The top of the filter (pointing down) is just alittle past the bottom of the radiator. Yeah, it's being blocked, but without the foglights/spacers, and the mounts they hold on to, theres A LOT of free flowing cold air coming in.

With the short ram, the hood just touched the top of it. So the heat coming off the engine just went up to the hood and the filter picked that up. Now, it sits lower and it's doing better. BUT not low enough for water consumption. Long story short, (because I'm bored I write a book), it doesn't drink anymore. No bypass needed.

Your engine bay looks pretty damn good. Mine looked close to that before it caught fire when I threw a rod.
