Unhappy window problem

I have a '98 Intrigue and the problem I'm having is the driver power window will occasionally not come back to the up position, there is never a problem to bring the window to the down position.
My question is when the window is in the down position can I bypass the switch to bring it to the up position. I'm thinking the switch is bad and needs replaced but the price for a new one is outragous ($250). I've tried to locate a used switch with no luck.

Thanks in advance.

Re: window problem

car-part.com (used)
rockauto.com
gmpartsdirect.com

maybe you can fix the contact yourself when you pull it out and look at it. Why not give it a try and also see if it is the switch or something else (bypass the switch).

Re: window problem

This is a temporary fix...

Hit the door panel from the inside, rather hard. Right around the door handle usually works, and it comes free and comes up. Quirky thing.
