Re: 01 grand am interm doesnt start...

This has happend to many GA owners.
Its probly the ignition switch or the pcm freaking out

PassLock reset.
Try and start the car, leave the key in the "ON" position for 10 mins.
Turn off for 10 sec.
Repeat this 3 times, after the third time on for 10 mins, try and start.

Done a search heres some more insite.

Re: 01 grand am interm doesnt start...

Thier are a couple dimples in the key, not sure if thier really is a chip in the key but could.
I hav spair keys that are not like the factory key, and they work fine.

Probly need to take it to a stealership to hav it properly diagnosed. Isnt that what the book says to do if it keeps coming on ??

THo it Could be your ignition switch, could be the body control module.

Good Luck!

I hav no clue who "me" (you) are

You and or a local shop cant properly diagnose everything that could be wrong with your passlock system.
But not all dealerships hav properly trained technicians.

And if you or anyone spends $1000 and didnt get the trouble fixed, thats to bad .
Shouldnt hav wasted time and money on someone incapable of properly diagnosing the passlock syt.
