my plug is stuck!!!

ok, so here's the deal... i let some asshole at work change the spark plugs in my 89 Civic hatch, and lo and behold, he got the number two plug stuck... the plug is stripped in there and we cant get it tightened or thread it out. my idea is going in and take off the head, but before i go and perforn heart surgery on the good ol' hot rod, i just wanted to see if anyone had any simpler ideas.

Did you try unscrewing it with a little spark plug wrench, or did you actually use a socket and extension with a big ratchet? Try it with a socket and maybe a breaker bar and see if you can unscrew it. Im sorry to hear about what the fucker at work did, next time you should change the plugs yourself, dont let some guy who has no patience try to change em and fuck up the threads.

we did the whole wrench and ratchet thing... even took the valve cover off to try to get closer, still no luck...

the only reason i let the guy do it was because i had to get back inside, and it was getting dark, trust me, i learned my lesson real good.

how exactly is it stuck? are the threads stripped, or did he just round it off? either way the head will have to come off.

ok i know htis is kidna me beign a dick but everyone should own a honda manual. my manual goes into all this stuff and it helps but yes the only way si really to take hte head off becuase yo uneed to see whats going on since oyur only assuming things are totally screwed.

Will the plug turn and just not come out? If so, try taking a piece of 1/4" I.D. fuel hose and pushing it down firmly over the end of the plug as far as you can. After doing so gently pull the hose and rotate at the same time. I have had success with this method in the past. If this works then install a HeliCoil and put plug back in place. Best of luck.
