ABS Light Activates at odds Times..

I have clocked it while on the highway the ABS light will come on when I hit 85-90mph.

Anyone able to point me as to if this is a feature of this vehicle or is it not normal?

I'd guess that isn't normal. Mine seems to come on during rainy days, so I RTVd the electrical connector just before the sensor. The sensor is mounted on top of the rear differential. You can follow the wires to it. It might be worth checking the wires. I wonder if the high speed and the gear oil being thrown around in there has anything to do with it.

not normal.

Take it to a place to have the codes read.

85-90 is pretty damn fast to be rolling in an SUV.

I thought the same. But then I remembered there's a reason I know the light doesn't normally come on at 90...

Re: ABS Light Activates at odds Times..

I don't generally drive that fast but on the highway, you got some big truck driving in front of you. I feel the need to pass it. You just can't know whats in front.

Ill have my mechanic check out the rear area, wiring and cleanlyness. Ive also noticed sometimes when accelerating fast say through a part in the road that gets a little bumpy or uneven, the light comes on (rarely happens) to tell you the truth hasn't happened in awhile. The speed check is the main time I see it.

Sounds like it could be wiring.

Anyone know exactly what place will read the ABS codes? Would this be somthing to worry about?

I asked the dealer one time, and they said its not a big issue becuase the breaks still function even if the abs isn't functioning properly. Any more ideas?
