No Fuel Delivery

Hello, I have a 1986 S10 Blazer with the 2.8L v6. It has TBI Throttle body injection. I recently broke down and had to replace the fuel pump and fuel pump relay. After clearing the flooding by holding down the gas pedal, it ran like normal for about 2 days. I was on the freeway doing about 65 then all of a sudden there was a dramatic loss of power. I was only able to do 35-40 for a couple miles through town. Gradually power decreased more and more until it eventually died. I thought something wrong with the air/fuel mixture so I pulled the ECM and ECMB fuses to find them both to be good. I restarted the truck after that and it had a very high idle, probably around 3000 rpm(no tachometer). I was able to drive a few more blocks then it died again. I pulled the fuses again and the same thing happened. Got a couple more blocks then died. Eventually this trick stopped working and I had to be towed the rest of the way home. Now it does not even attempt to kick over. I opened my air filter housing this morning to find there was no fuel getting to the injectors when I tried to start it, although the fuel pump and relay is brand new. It is getting spark from at least one plug that I tested, getting plenty of air(tried to start with airbox open), but it is definately not getting gas. PLEASE HELP!
p.s. - I don't know if this has anything to do with it but for a couple months before this it has had horrible cold starts, took about 15 seconds of cranking to fire and would die until it warmed up. A mechanic friend suggested a leaky fuel injector. Thanks for any advice.

Re: No Fuel Delivery

Welcome to the forum. If you are not getting fuel to the injectors, then check your fuel pump to see if it is still working. Make sure that you are getting power to the fuel pump and that you have a good ground to the fuel pump. I have seen a similar problem and the power wire to the pump had been rubbed bare and was shorting out, then would stop working. Also your injectors get their trigger from the pickup coil and ignition module, I have seen it still spark but not get a signal to the injectors telling them to fire. Hope this helps.

Re: No Fuel Delivery

When you replaced the fuel pump, did you eliminate the pulsation damper between the pump and supply tube?

Re: No Fuel Delivery

Thanks for the replies. When I replaced the fuel pump I somehow threw the gas guage out of sync. It said I had a quarter tank, but when I dropped the tank I found it was empty. So I hooked it back up, put gas in it and now it runs again. Any ideas on how to recalibrate the gauge? Thanks for your help....
