06 GSXR 600 Vibration

hey guys , this crap just started the other day , and its buggin the crap out of me. i was riding yesterday , and it started vibrateing pretty decently , mostly felt in the foot pegs , but can be felt even in the bars, and mostly vibrates on deceleration in gear , not much at all just crusing , and a bit on acceleration. the chain was loose, so i tightened that today , made it a little better , but its still there. this weekend id throughly cleaned the chain (with proper solvents and a hose , not high pressure hose , just running water) , and put some good chain lube on , and also finally put synthetic motor oil in (Elf full syn 10-50 if anyone cares). i was thinkin i might have missed a spot on the chain so i juiced the crap out of it last night, no diff. any help guys? please?

Re: 06 GSXR 600 Vibration

so its only when you accelerate and slow down.

is it motor rev related or wheel speed related?

do you have a pick up stand? if so does the rear wheel rotate cleanly.
if not pull the bike over while on the side stand and check same.

or wait for jeff as he's a mechanical whiz

Re: 06 GSXR 600 Vibration

it does it the worst on deceleration , and mostly at higher RPM's , 8k and up , doesnt do it quite so bad on acceleration. doesnt do it at all at a stop revving it. id stopped by the suzi dealer today and had them ride it, he claimed that before when the chain was loose(real loose, slapping the chain guard) was why it did it , and after id tightend the chain , it was a little too tight, but he said just leave it and it should go away as the chain stretchs (or wears if you wanna be specfic) . also , it does it in every gear , not quite so bad in higher gears , which makes me think it has something to do with engine load

ill jack it up tommarow and make sure the wheel rotates smooth and nicely

thanks a bunch guys

Re: 06 GSXR 600 Vibration

it sounds very weird.

check your tyres and see if your missing a balance weight.

or maybe it like when i had a bad tyre which made a vibration when i braked for intersections.

Re: 06 GSXR 600 Vibration

Good suggestions, except for the person who told you to let the chain stretch to fit.

since it is related to engine speed/load and not road speed or gear, I'd be taking a good look at the engine mounts...they will make all kinds of weird buzz that you feel in the extremities of the bike if a bolt is sheared off or loose...since you feel it more on decel than accel, that kinda points to a mount as well, as the motor wants to torque rearward on acceleration, and forward on decel...different loading of the mounts, so if one is not altogether sound, it'll vibe more when that mount is unloaded...if it was a mount, I'd suspect the one(s) near the rear of the motor more...
