struts or shock

im abount to put in bushing in my suspension while every thing was off i was planing to buy springs and stuts/shocks the springs i have narrowed down to what i want to get but i dont the comple differnece between the struts and the shocks is there a difference i dont want to buy 4 shocks or struts and come to find out inee 2 of each any info would be greatly apreaciated also im a daily driver who loves to drive not raceso not too much info on the ajustables but feel free to elab on them thanks

You need 4 springs and 4 shocks, or you can buy preassembled shocks and sprigs called coilovers. I suggest you read this.
