ok guys,need help buying gtp 2000

ok so i am about to buy this gtp 2000 for 9,000.i test drove it and i was impressed with its speed at first, i never been in one of these cars.ok so my main question is its got 55,000 on it and the engine looks brand new meaning it was kept real good,but i saw that boost gauge....well i didnt really romp on it i just drove it down the street,,so i ask i didnt see it move or notice any boost at all..does it only boost when you stomp on it or should i have seen that gauge move reguardless.the car runs good and seemed to work great.but i know with a turbo you have to wait till it spools,i was under the impression that a sc creates boost from a stop,so why didt i see or feel it,hmmm im kinda worried now...let me know guys thanks ~joe

Re: ok guys,need help buying gtp 2000

you do have to get on it a little bit, there is no lag like a turbo but you still must give it some gas. like i can drive all day without boosting at all, but once i give it half or more throttle, it will start boosting. also those factory boost gauges arent very good, alot of people(like myself) add an aftermarket one.

no you cant "turn up the boost" per say, but you can add smaller pulleys. like the factory one is 3.8 inches and it boosts at 7 ps1 at WOT, but i have a 3.4 which boosts at 11ish, but you must add supporting mods b4 you change pulleys.

my reccomendation first is get a CAI you will freaking love what you hear when you step on it...at least i did and im sure the rest of us GTP owners all do and did

moneky lizzard im not sure why your post isnt up here but i got an email on you requestiing what a CAI is

CAI= cold air intake/induction

you can pick up a basic one from ebay for 25 bucks. then i went out and bought a 9" K&N filter all the major companies really rip you off when you buy a name brand one unless you buy one with the encosed box or whatever. they are like 250. i stick with the regualr one.

i think youll be rather impressed at the sound you hear with just a CAI on. all GTP's make fairly close to the same sound. my stock GTP with just an intake and a 180* tstat sounds mean as hell at full or even half throttle...screaming down the highway. trust me with the CAI,,, you and others 2 blocks away will hear you when you get on it. you wont hear it at idle like you do on cobras...they have 2.8 pulleys which to put a 2.8 pulley on an eaton M90 id say you got some hefty upgrades done or a begging for a blown engine.

hope i helped have fun and good luck
