Traction Control Failure

Just bought a G6 Coupe back in May. I was going roughly 70 mph (speed limit) and then took an off-ramp. Just had cut the cruise off and was coasting up the exit ramp, and the traction control light came on, car made a noise and a jerk, causing me to loose control. I plunged off the ramp, down an embankment and through a ditch. Buckled the front of the car under and busted radiator. Was just curious if anyone else was having problems with the traction control or brakes messing up with them.
