Bypass valve??? Injen cold air intake

Hi all

A question. I just ordered an injen air cold air intake for my rsx-s. My question is this. Do i really need a bypass valve? I'm really afraid of messing my engine up for a mere 12 hp gain. Dealer does not warranty if this happens. And also if do have to use one, can i use the AEM bypass valve w/my injen air intake???? Or can somoene send me a link for an injen air intake bypass valve, i can't find one.

Thank YOU!

yeah... ok..
Here's what i think.
Save the 30 or so bucks.
Bypass valve won't be needed unless if you are going through a overlarge puddle of water that half your car will be under for to long a period.
But that's what I think.

i would get it. you dont need a puddle "half your car will be under" to mess it up. you only need to splash up some water, then have it sucked up the intake. a teaspoon of water can cause hydrolock, it doesnt have to be much. thats why i stay away from CAI's period. woohoo 3 more hp to the wheels than a short ram, plus the chance of ruining the engine.

yes very true...
But I also heard many stories about people being through large puddles, rain etc. Never had any troubles with hydralock.
Some of my friends think its just useless so they didn't buy it but you you want to be that safe? Then go ahead and buy the by pass valve.
Like I said. I personally wouldn't but that's me. and plus... I'm only 14
