replaced wheel hub/bearings. ABS light on
I just replaced the front wheel bearings on my 01 impala base model. when i was done cranked it up and the ABS light came on and stayed on. It wasn't on before. I disconnected the battery for a minute thinking it needed to be reset, that didn't work. I heard it would go off automatically after about 20 miles but it hasn't. any one have an idea?

Re: replaced wheel hub/bearings. ABS light on
Since the ABS wheel speed sensor is part of the hub, I suspect one of three things happened.
1. You bought cheapo chinese made hubs that are junk right out of the box. 2. You used an impact wrench to install the hub, which damaged the ABS sensors. 3. You were unlucky and got a bad premium brand hub. In any case, you may need to have the car scanned with an ABS capable scan tool (the ones at A-Z and Advance are not ABS capable). Try unplugging the wiring harness, and check resistance across the connector attached to the hub bearing . They should read somewhere around 1k ohms. If they don't they are bad.

Always ask for the best they have. You might check the wiring and wiring plug. I have saw broken wiring. You will need a scaner to find out which wheel is the problem. Good Luck MT
