high rpm?

i have 130,000 miles on it and i was just wonderin if accelerating past 5,000 or 6,000 RPM is alright i was told the car doesn't mind getting up in the high rpm it's just easy and loud i thought the tranny might be going out, and is the zx3 a 3 speed with OD or a 4 speed with OD

Re: high rpm?

as long as the car is in good working order it will not hurt a bit, My car has 145k on it and it sees 6k+ each day.

Re: high rpm?

well, can you actually drive the car at 5,000 5,500 rpms if need be? i got the car not to long ago, and im just trying to make sure i don't blow it, i usually don't get it past 100, but i want to just to see what's up with it, and another thing, i noticed the engine makes a soft knock, now is this the same noise associated with the loud knocking most cars get when you drive the shit out of them and their about to go out or what? i mean i check the oil every week or so, and the tranny fluid so none of that is low, or is it just a noise the zetech makes it's not really noticable unless it starts cold or you listen REALLY REALLY closly, thanks :P
