99 Durango Transmission slipping

It seems like when I start out on a hill trans slips from 1st to 2nd .
Would the speed sensor have anything to do with this?
I changed fluid
99 durango 5.2
Thank You in advance

Not very often.
Was the filter changed and what kind of fluid added?
Is fluid level good when hot.
Any engine or transmission codes?
It would be a good idea to get it on a transmission and engine capable scanner and see if it shows anything.

Re: 99 Durango Transmission slipping

how many miles are on it. have you ever done a 2nd gear band adjustment. they ussually take a good beating. its on the driver side of the tranny right above the pan. like a 13/16 jam nut and a 5-16 allen. tighten all the way and back off 1 full turn. did this on mine and ended up turning it in 1 3/4 turns in, so it was 3/4 turn out of adjustment. to adjust the third gear band you have to pull the pan.
