Exclamation usdm b16 swap with d16 ecu/mounts?!?!

ok so im about to buy a 95 civic ex with a b16a2 swap.. the guy says that he is running a d16 ecu.. is this possible? or is it not a very good idea? he claims his friend has the same setup and its chipped to work more efficiently. im suspicious.

also, wouldnt this require a hacked up harness? he also claims to have the b16 tranny. i just want to know where to find the tranny code itself ON the tranny so i can verify its from an Si.

he also claims to have completed the swap using a combination of the b16 and d16 mounts... is this at all possible and efficient??

sounds wierd.. lemme know before i waste my $4,000!!

Re: usdm b16 swap with d16 ecu/mounts?!?!

Everything sounds correct. There are chips to make the P28 work with a dohc B-series engine, so as long as he has one it should be fine. Otherwise just try to find an OBD1 ('92-'95) B16a ecu. You wouldn't need to do anything to the harness to use the different ecu. Infact if he used the ecu that came with the engine, he would need to buy an conversion harness to match the correct plugs of the ecu (OBD1 and OBD2 ecu connections are different). The mount part is correct, you use a mixture of mounts. Not sure about the transmission # though, I'm sure someone else can help you with that.

The code should be on the bar code on the front of the trans case.
