Clear part problem. Help !

I praticly done my Ferrari 360 SPider, but i scrap the rear window for the engin. What shall I do ? any technic ?

1. Paint the windows all red like the car (and cover the beutifull engin )
2. Try to make one with scrap part (I have old Truck that I could use there Windsheild, but not sur if I can cut it right ?)

Any advice ?

just get a piece of clear plastic, thin lexan or even a plastic bottle........

what exactly happened to the window?

Hello Vric,I'm sorry to hear about your problem.Shall I assume that your kit is a Tamiya??? If so one option that you might consider is contacting the N. American division of Tamiya.As long as the kit is still in production they will send you a replacemant part (credit card needed).I've done this with a decal sheet in the past and they are fast and easy to deal with.

Hahaha I "learn the hard way"

I have paint the black frame but a small glitch of paint was in the middle.... I have already use Tamiya Thiner to wash clear part with no problem before, but this time it was Testor paint.................. Don't use Testor Thiner on clear part ! this is horrible The window is all fog....

Yea I know, but it's quite expensive since you need to order the all sprue (all the clear part) cost about 15$Can (near the half of the whole kit !)

Sand and polish the scraped part. Use it as a master and heat-form a new one from clear plastic or vinyl sheet. R/C shop should have one. That way, you can make very thin engine cover, which will look better than the kit part.

I agree with hirofkd about the sanding and polishing. Use a very thin sanding paper though, not to make things worse 2000 or up will do. Polishing can be done with canopy polish. Aricraft modelers use this a lot. Try this first - most easy.

If the scratch is still not gone, I'd do the heat-form thing like hirofkd suggested.

That Worked with thin vinyl sheet... I have a new windows now.. I have no Frame but it's better that Nothing !
