Hello Vric,I'm sorry to hear about your problem.Shall I assume that your kit is a Tamiya??? If so one option that you might consider is contacting the N. American division of Tamiya. As long as the kit is still in production they will send you a replacemant part (credit card needed).I've done this with a decal sheet in the past and they are fast and easy to deal with.
Hope this helps,good luck.

Sand and polish the scraped part. Use it as a master and heat-form a new one from clear plastic or vinyl sheet. R/C shop should have one. That way, you can make very thin engine cover, which will look better than the kit part.

I agree with hirofkd about the sanding and polishing. Use a very thin sanding paper though, not to make things worse
2000 or up will do. Polishing can be done with canopy polish. Aricraft modelers use this a lot. Try this first - most easy.If the scratch is still not gone, I'd do the heat-form thing like hirofkd suggested. Good Luck. |
