Might as well start this up!

My tip of the day is Lacquer Thinner. This all purpose product not only cleans out your brushes, your airbrush, thins your paints for said airbrush but also can be used for gluing parts together! Yup when you need to put parts together and don't want to use that nasty old super glue just dab on some lacquer thinner and hold for about 30 seconds and it be stuck!
For anyone outside the know-lacquer thinner will melt plastic like super glue. I use a small brush and dip it in some LT(lacquer thinner) and place it at the join part of the two parts and putting together. The capulary action will put the LT around the join. Also a bonus of the LT gluing method is that there is no sanding of superglue resadue and it doesn't get that nasty white haze after it drys like some super glues do.

Only other thing is to only do this with unpainted parts, or you will make a mess!

Yup, lacquer thinner contains xylene and toulene, either of which are found in regular old model cement. You forgot to mention that lacquer thinner fumes are hazardous to your health, however! :shocked:

Actually, "super glues" (and any other cyano based adhesives) do not melt the plastic , but rather use the adhesive itself as the bonding agents. As such they cannot withstand shear-forces very well.
