Please Help Me Understand

In those commercials for DLP HDTV or whatever, they have this little girl who apparently travels the globe and explains to the masses how the TV's picture clarity is superior because of its "millions of tiny mirrors". The hapless adult she is educating is then held in awe by a beam of light that eminates from the screen on a tiny device she presents.

I don't know all too much about how these new TVs work, nor do I care. I am confused as to why she has this small device and its relevance to the "millions of tiny mirrors", but that's not my reason for posting. What I really want to know is...

WHY THE HELL IS THERE AN ELEPHANT STANDING NEXT TO HER IN ALL THE COMMERCIALS!?!?!

If someone could explain this to me I'd greatly appreciate it. I rack my brain trying to figure out why the elephant is there every time I see the ads.
