There is a rubbing/whining noise in my passenger side, rear wheel. You could say it progresses to a hum at times. I have replaced the pads, caliper and hub bearing assembley for that wheel, but the noise is still there. The noise starts at about 25 miles per hour and continues on. The virbrato of the noise seems to be tied to the speed of the car, but not the volume. When I turn to the left at any speed, the noise starts to dissipate. Likewise, when I turn to the right, the noise seems to increase in intensity. Any ideas out there?
P.S.>> I Just replaced all four tires with new ones and the noise started before I replaced the tires. Is it possible that the noise is coming from the left rear wheel and it's just doing a ventriloquist thing and making it sound as if it's coming from the right side? Re: Noise in right rear wheel 1995 Maxima

Problem solved. It was the drivers side rear hub bearing assembly that was making the noise, so I took the bearing that took of the passenger side rear and put on the drivers side rear. Noise gone. Some how the sound was being transferred to the passenger side rear, so much so that one the local Firestone Service Center thought it was coming from the passenger side rear as well. >> Do it your self auto-mech law number xxx>> when it come to car noises, don't trust your ears.!!!
