need heads

I am trying to find heads for my 1989 chevy 1500 W/ 4.3 L V6

just trying to make some modest improvments but i cant seem to find anything other than "stock" parts or full on race heads, looking for some thing along the lines of the Edelbrock performer series heads.

thanks for your time

charlie

Re: need heads

Try these, I got a set or Vortecs from them and was most pleased. This price is reasonable. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy...31460272QQrdZ1 These are for your particular 4.3 , notice that they are not the kidney shaped Vortec heads but the D type,

Re: need heads

Tell her it costs a lot less than a $2800.00 dealer installed rebiuld. We will save $2400.00!! That might do it.

Re: need heads

How about just getting your stock heads worked on?

Re: need heads

Also makes sense. But if you buy the heads it could be a afternoon swap. Drive the next day.

Probably the same price too, or even cheaper.

wow. the dealer here wants $3000 just for the engine, not including installation.

Do different dealers have different prices? I figured GM would have that stuff price fixed through the dealerships? I have a parts guy who sells me Delco at usually 1/3 to 1/2 of what the dealership charges for the same part number, but they can no longer get pre-assembled engines.

Yes, there are different prices.

That is an absolute ripoff.
