4.8 Mods ?

I have a 2006 Crew Cab with a 4.8 in it. I have Magnaflow 3 and half " exhaust with turndowns. Anyone have any suggestions on some quick and cheap horsepower mods. I am a college student, and I wanna do some stuff, but not to expensive. Please give me some input.

Re: 4.8 Mods ?

I bought a 160 degree thermostat and an air intake system (AirMax) to accompany my cat-back exhaust.

Nelson tune www.nelsonperformance.com

The cost is under $500, and the benefits are huge. I've more than paid for mine with the +2 MPG it gave me.

If you are still under warranty. Gm may frown on mods to it.
With a crew cab and that much weight you really need a bigger engine for performance.
But you might try a removable or plugin chip.
They sometimes help performance and even a little on fuel.
And if they do not work out just unplug it.
How is the gas mileage on it now?
Good luck

Nelson tune has zero effect on warranty. I would, however, not suggest messing with an engine transplant at this time.
