94 Chrysler Concorde Check Engine Codes

I ran the diagnostic (turn the key 3 times then count the number of times the Check Engine light comes on and I counted 3 3 so 33 so the code is 33.

What is this?

Re: 94 Chrysler Concorde Check Engine Codes

P0033=Turbocharger Surge Valve Circuit, Bypass Valve Control Curcuit/Open.
P033A-E is the Knock Sensor 4 Circuit, Bank 2
Hope this helps.
If you have an Autozone Parts Store nearby they will check it for you and see what they get on their code reader.

Re: 94 Chrysler Concorde Check Engine Codes

Vehicles made in 1995 and earlier do not have "P0xxx" codes for troubleshooting, those codes are for the OBD-II vehicles starting in 1996 to the present. 1995 and earlier vehicles have a whole different code chart to look at that is not mostly universal to all vehicles like OBD-II codes are. The following applies to the Code 33 for your 94 Concorde.

Code 33 - "Air conditioning clutch relay circuit. An open or shorted condition detected in the compressor clutch relay circuit."

That could mean anything from a bad A/C Clutch Relay in the Power Distribution Box or a Bad A/C Compressor Clutch, broken wire in the circuit or even the possibility that the AC system is too low on refrigerant and shut down the system, if the later is the case the system needs to be tested for leaks and or recharged.

There is no start sequence. Some folks get a 12 but that just means the Battery was dissconected within the last 50 starts.

Code 55 does mean "End of codes".

So your stuck having to check plugs and wiring. I can't remember if there is a relay for the AC clutch, if so it will be in the Power Distribution Center (Black box on the driver side fender well) All the relays should be the same for that year so you can unplug one and insert it in another circut to test it. Also check the fuse box.

Cheers
