Spark plugs on 2000 Grand Am

After a quick glance at the engine I wasn't able to see any spark plugs on my girlfriends 2000 GA 4 cylinder. Rather than starting to rip things apart I didn't need to I figured to ask you guys to point me in the right direction. Thanks

Re: Spark plugs on 2000 Grand Am

I suspect she has a 2.4 L engine. The plugs are located under the cover located between the cams. There are no plug wires but boots that attach to the plugs inside a housing. Be careful when removing the cover since you don't want to break anything but they are easy to change. I recommend that you only change the plugs when the engine is cold due to the fact that the head is aluminum and you can strip the head if you change them hot.
