oil squirter?
ok here's my question. i just bought this eg hatch that already has an LS/Vtec swap. but i want to build up the bottom end for a turbo setup. i was wondering if i should even invest in the LS block and spend all that money on sleeves, pistons, ect. or should i just save up for a GSR block which has oil squirters? are oil squirters very benefitial to have when you are running Vtec/Turbo? comments, suggestions?

Re: oil squirter?
Have you thought about having the pistons coated?
A local machine shop coated my domes, chambers and valve faces w/a heat reflective coating (I can't recall the exact name of it). Less heat is soaked up by the internals and more is pushed out through the exhaust. Then I had the piston skirts coated with a dry film to reduce vertical friction. TDI engines have oil squirters. The only problem I see is risking the chance of oil blowing past the rings. |
