guages

Just a quick question, what brands and styles of guages is everyone using here, i.e. reverse glow, indiglow ect... Not for the main cluster but for anything after market i.e. boost guage, water temperature, oil pressure ect.
EDIT: Also are you happy with them and are they readable at night?

Re: guages

do a search on google. To tell you the truth, I haven't found any real "options" for different gauges (reverse glow and styles) there might be some options, but aftermarket accessories are hard to find for our cars. check www.3sxperformance.com or wooddash.com, they might have some there.

Re: guages

If you want expensive ones, I'd go with Defi. Expensive, yes. But they are, from what I've heard, well worth the money.

Re: guages

Autometer are usually good. I think I'm using some cheap VDO something or other for my boost gauge. It works fine, lights up fine, but in retrospect I wish I had bought one that showed vacuum pressure as well.

Re: guages

i found the series i am going to go with, i want the auto meter full sweep electric ultra lite series, they will look nice, now i just need to figure out where i can get a dual guage pod for some 2 5/8" (66.7mm) guages, and i need to know if anyone has gotten them in the middle guage cluster...

i don't mean to sound like a smart-ass, but can anyone really tell if a gauge is accurate or not? isn't it just a ploy used by the manufacturer to get you to purchase their gauge? i'm sure every gauge manufacturer says something about "dead-on accuracy" regarding their gagues.

just an aside.

Re: guages

good point, but ther reason i say that, is because i actually have two things reading boost
the gauge and the profec b spec II.....they read exactly the same and i tend to believe that the profec is reading dead on

the a/f ratio i dont know, but i do trust it

Re: guages

I would never use Auto Meter if my life depended on it... The quality of the guages arevery cheap and no they are not that accurate... I work for MVP Motor Sports and I've have seen and tryed out many guages. Some brands to stay away from is AEM, AutoMeter, and any other cheap crap...
Some of the most respected guage and most accurate is Greddy, Blitz, and Defi.

Defi is well worht the money because ot its unqique "Daisy chain" ability, maes installing guages very cleans and very easy, plus they look very good and are great quality, it has a mother controller that allows you to set warnings, peaks, and record. I overall payed $800... yes very expensive but like said earlier very well worth it. if you would like to see some of the different verities you can go here http://www.mvpmotorsports.com/Templa...855&SearchYN=N
But if you dont have the money to spend I would recomend useing Greddy guages they are not too expensive and very good quality guages, I used to own a set my self.
