First time poster needs help w/SES light problem on a 95 Lumina 3.1
Hi all! - I'm a long time lurker so I know there are plenty of knowledgeable folk here.
My problem is this.. On my wife's 95 Lumina sedan 3.1 (133K miles), the SES light will come on whenever I get above about 45 mph and let off the gas for 4-5 seconds, like drifting down a hill at highway speeds. Turning the car off for a few minutes resets the light. But as long as I stay under 45 mph the light will not come on. When this first started, about 2 months ago, the light would sometimes go out on its own, mostly on long drives. But now, once it's on, its on until I turn the car off. (Note; This is not an ORB II, so it's a bear to scan.)
Now I know from reading this forum for the past two months, that this is more then likely caused by carbon build-up in some passageway somewhere, and/or a tube of some kind. (Sorry, but I don't remember the names, and of course now I can't find the posts where I read about it.)
[So here's the part I need the help with.]---> Since I don’t want to just start disassembling things until I find something that's clogged, I was hoping that someone here would be kind enough to walk out to their 3.1 with a digital camera, and take a picture of their finger resting on the part(s) I need to unclog, and then post it here. I know this is a lot for a newcomer to ask, but it really would help speed up my repair. (And might also help other lurkers with the same problem.) I have all of the tools needed to do the job, and 30 years experience tinkering with cars. I just need some direction. :-)
So if anyone here could point me (literally) to the likely suspect(s), it would be greatly appreciated! --Thanks!
