T&C A/C Blower not working

I've read the indepth post regarding blower issues. My case 2000 T&C, the blower would sometimes work on all speed settings but just recently died altogether. I've checked the fuse, replaced the blower fuse, checked resistor (no corrosion). Now I'm at replacing the blower. Is it possible that it may be something electrical in the fan speed switch? I'd hate to replace the blower only to find out that it was an electrical problem in the switch or something else. Any Help!

you can run direct power using a jumper wire from the battery, and if the blower then does not work, start looking some other place. But what I've read and seen it's either the resistor block or the motor its self that goes bad.this is where I'd start.post back and let us know.

Re: T&C A/C Blower not working

I ended up jumping the blower motor directly from the battery. I got no blower function. I then took the blower motor out assuming a bad motor. I tried jumping the blower one more time, just to make sure, and it worked!!! The blower operated fine with no indication of wear or any problems. Put the motor back in the van and all works fine. I checked for 12 volts coming into the motor from the wire harness before I ever jumped the motor and it checked good. I guess I have a gremlin wandering through my van causing me much head scratching.

Could be the bearings in the motor are going out or you have an intermittent wire connection/ground at the motor.

Re: T&C A/C Blower not working

my experience with my 97 gc blower failure was in the relay. Not sure yours is the same as the 97. If it is, try substituting the blower relay with a known good one. Maybe one of the headlight relays. They are all the same. Relays located in the relay, fuse bank near the battery.

Is this a automatic control unit?
If so a scanner can be used to get HAVC codes.
On a cry they use a ground circuit to control operation of blower and other stuff.
You can not do a proper test by jumping 12 volts to it.
You need to get a good wiring diagram of all circuits to test it.
Also on testing blower motor always run a amp draw test on it to.
