why ?

Well, I never made a name for myself here, but I haven't been on AF for awhile, and I needed to do some venting, being as how I have nobody else to discuss this matter with... So maybe SOMEONE can sympathize, or give me insight ? idk... On with my dilemma.


So, I work for a company named Varsity. If anyone on here has ever been to a Simon mall, the company I work for is contracted to do its housekeeping and maintenance, for just about every Simon owned mall in America.


Well, being as how my official job title is considered "Housekeeping" ... I usuall get called "The Janitor". Oh well, big deal. I don't care if people make fun of me for it. Its a job, and I make decent money working only 4 days per week.

So being a "janitor" has its duties. I sweep the floor. I clean up after asshole kids that throw shit all over the place. I scrub the floors. I clean windows that kids also smear their greasy ass heads, faces, lips, asses (its happened) and hands all over. I have the occasional spilled soda on the floor, the occasional bio-hazard, ya know. Shit like that.

Well, one thing I absolutely DESPISE about my work day is bathroom duty. And let me tell ya, its not which bathoom you think it is. We have a Mens room, a womens room, and a family / handicapped /unisex room. Call it what you want. Its got a toilet and a sink. ANYWAYS

9 times out of 10, I go to clean the restrooms and the mens room is fine... maybe have to clean a mirror or wipe a sink off. Big deal. Same with the family restroom.

Now the womens room... YUCK!

Now I'm going to go in a little detail.... Not trying to sound like I know what i'm talking about here, but I'll do the best I can.

But for fucks sake... how on EARTH do women urinate all over the fucking place ?

I mean, generally, from what I know, women's anatomy requires them to sit down to "do their duties". As far as I know...

For instance...

Tonight the mall closed, and I waited to do the bathrooms last because they are always the longest job I have to do.

I walked into the womens room and open a stall and I was utterly disgusted. 3 of the 5 stalls in the womens room had urine ALL OVER THE TOILET... I mean, in the bowl, on the seat, on the UNDERSIDE of the seat, on the bowl's rim underneath the seat, on the back of the toilet behind the seat. On the floor, fucking EVERYWHERE. And I won't speak of what I had to clean out of the sanitary baskets. It was that bad. And sometimes those "sanitary items" end up on the floor. Very bad. IMO

And this ^^^ wasn't just a one time thing. This is EVERYDAY. Day after day. Same shit, all the time.

So I guess what my question is, what would compel a woman to do this shit ?

I mean, the restrooms (All of them) are checked by security every half hour on the half hour, by me on the hour (when i'm working), and cleaned top to bottom on that hour, except for mopping the floor in most cases, because the floor takes too long to dry, and its the only set of "mall restrooms". ANYWAYS... what i'm trying to say is. They're clean. Very clean. I'm talking every toilet is cleaned with bowl cleaner, every seat sanitized, every handle sanitized, Dispensers, EVERYTHING. I'd be willing to bet the bathrooms at this mall are cleaner than most bathrooms in the average household. Honestly. And that cleaning I just mentioned is the "hourly" cleaning. "Nightly" cleaning is much more labor-intensive. And day after day, the women's room is by far the most time consuming.

So, in my mind, i'm ruling out the cleanliness factor. Because if I was a woman, I'd sit my ass down and do my buisness, that's how clean and nice they are. And I wouldn't even think about trashing the place, or doing anything other than bathroom related material. Because that bathroom took time to clean, and alot of work to keep it looking nice. If I were a woman, I'd feel really bad for the man/woman that had to clean the place up if I were to trash it, but that's just me. Maybe i'm weird ?

I know this is an odd subject to speak of, and most people probably aren't too familiar with this problem because they don't have my job.

But i'm going to say this right now..

Women + Their bathroom etiquette = FUCKING NASTY

Must comment. You're right Oz, men can be just as bad...but:

Women don't sit down in a strange bathroom, they squat. They complain about our aim, but theirs is nonexistent.

I've had to clean out the "little boxes" on the restroom wall myself, back when I had that job. Hey, it's part of the natural course of things, but rarely did I find that a woman took the time to put her used tampon in the regular trash. Nope, leave it for someone else to clean up.

Not that you're getting the highest quality of woman hanging around in a mall anyway.

I somewhat feel your pain. I worked at Movie Gallery (its a video rental chain) and part of my duties were to clean bathrooms. I was often amazed at how disusting the womens bathroom was in comparison to the mens room. After a while I realized that part of the problem is that more women use the public bathroom more often than men. At least twice as much at my store. I'm not sure what the ratio is in such a large center as a mall.

And as fred said, women squat because they fear germs, which is reasonable in a public place regardles of how clean it may appear. People will always be much more comfortable with their own germs at home than with everyone else's at the mall.

Women's "unique" bodily functions just add to the problem. Why some women lack the ability or consideration to place their especially digusting trash in with the rest is beyond me, but I witnessed the same thing at Movie Gallery.

I've worked as a garbage man and I've worked cleaning bathrooms. I've been more disgusted cleaning bathrooms.

I'm a woman, and I know what you're talking about. I rarely ever use public restrooms, but when I do, oh man, I regret walking into them.

Women are some of the most disgusting creatures when it comes to using the bathroom. Bleh...it's so gross. I've never been to a friend's house where the bathroom looked like that, so I don't get it.

I was there for about 3 years too. Never ass man cuz I was full time student 8 months of the year and they wouldn't let me just get the title for the summer months (or the pay rate for that matter). I've noticed the same. Women are disgusting in the bathroom if its not their own. It always seems the hopper in the women's bathroom is clogged 3 times more often than in the men's bathroom, plus those disgusting unmentionable things they leave all over the place. Usually its one of those things clogging the throne as well.

you know, it makes sense that its bad, and i'm sorry if you have to deal with it (although, if it bothers you to no end, i guess the sensible thing to do is to find another job. no sense working somewhere you can't stand).

I work at KFC this one night this old guy, he was prolly like in his 80's, went in to the restroom and dumped his diaper into the urinal. MY manager tried to get me to clean it up but I didn't. IT WAS SO FREAKING NASTY
