Intake System

I'm probably about to make myself sound like an idiot, but we all do every once and awhile. Will a aftermarket 2.3L intake work on a 2.0L ? They look almost identical. I'm sure it won't, but I had to ask anyway.

Re: Intake System

I can't give you a definate answer but I know for a fact that the 2.3 and 2.0 engines have different air boxes from the factory. The intake boots and MAF sensors appear identical. I'm assuming you're speaking of an air intake and not and intake manifold.

I can strongly discourage any aftermarket intake systems on this engine though. The MAF sensors on these vehicles are very touchy and I've seen them malfunction in many different ways. To boot, the cable-less throttle body expects certain amounts of air to be delivered a certain way. Secondary shutter valves and tuning valves may then not function correctly if these expected factors are changed.

I know, as a technician, that the warranties on your maf sensor and intake tuning valve (two common and expensive fault parts) would be void if an aftermarket intake is present.
