No Start after cam/crank sensor replacement

96 grandVoyager SE 3.3 2wd
I recently replaced the radiator fans and relay- the fans work again but less than a week later it started stalling, then wouldn't start at all- the key codes gave me 54, a bad cam sensor- I replaced the cam and crank sensors- still no start. I'm going to get an obd scanner regardless but a few weeks ago when it was just stalling the local autozone scanned it and said the port was dead-
Any ideas why the pig's not starting? PCM? and what if the port is dead- how will I diagnose?
oh, when the cam sensor went- it completely cooked the orange(?) pin in the plug- had to splice the sensor in- no key code showing up -12 -55, but it just won't start

Angry Re: No Start after cam/crank sensor replacement

don't mean to hijack this thread but i'm having same issue with same engine still no go after replacing cam and crank sensor. I was driving it and it just died on me. Hope someone have the answer for our problem. I've also replaced coil, and tried with another pcm, don't know what else to try other than using the car for parts.

Re: No Start after cam/crank sensor replacement

I've seen it said elsewhere on the forum that non OEM sensors can multiply your problems. They recommend using nothing but Mopar sensors.

Re: No Start after cam/crank sensor replacement

I am sure there are some Mopar pros on this board who may post some info.
I would start with:
1. Is there spark at the plugs?
2. How is the fuel pressure?
If it was old enough for the fan stuff to fail, it probably is old enough for pump problems.

Re: No Start after cam/crank sensor replacement

it ended up the PCM, it was messing up the current @ coil, I cut the bad wire going from the computer to the coil and it started right up with 4 cyl. working only. I guess I'll have to get new PCM now. Now the question does it really need to be same numbers or any 3.3 engine PCM will work?

Re: No Start after cam/crank sensor replacement

I'm kinda of leaning toward the pcm or body module, not sure- wish there was some easier way of diagnosing this problem(s)- I'm also getting an intermittent short somewhere- another maddening problem- where to start? I guess putting a test light to each fuse socket in the power strip and under the dash.. - also, when the engine does crank, it almost seems like the van is keeping it from starting, acd ok, security maybe- I'm lost.
