No Heater, Blower works fine

I know this is for the Explorer, but the Mountaineer is the same thing and this form seems to be more active.

So here is my problem: My 04 Mountaineer which is out of warranty (50,000 on the clock) has no heat. Fan works, but when I turn heat up air is cold, to a little warm at best. I have dual climate with Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC)
and both sides act the same. I can hear what sounds like a dragging or scratching noise when I adjust the heat. This would be the door moving or binding? Sounds like it is coming from behind my stereo or right under my dashboard. Also when I put the control on auto A/C or heat the air only blows to the floor. I can manually put it anywhere…Please help big trip in three day’s…Must have heat. Thank you in advance.

Re: No Heater, Blower works fine

I replied to your thread in the Mountaineer forum with instructions on how to enter the self diagnostics mode of the EATC.
