2000 Intrigue...P0385 code

The car shuts off sometimes while driving. It says "Malfunction in Crankshaft Position Sensor "B"" .....i was wondering, are there 2 sensors on this car? are they located behind the starter? how do i know which one i need to change??? any help would be appreciated guys...THANKS. |

Re: 2000 Intrigue...P0385 code
There is only one crankshaft sensor.
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,ca...,parttype,7196 Yes you have to remove the starter to get to it. Someone might chime in about having to reset the computer or some relearn procedure but I don't think it's necessary. |

Re: 2000 Intrigue...P0385 code
there are two sensors on the one sensor. When you replace the CKP sensor you are actually replacing both sensors. The relearn procedure (need a Tech2) was not necessary when I replaced mine over a year ago and it still runs excellent.
I bought mine at the GM dealer for ~$108? http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ght=ckp+sensor |

ohh ok....so if i go buy the CKP sensor from the dealership, it'll be a single sensor with 2 of them on it?
and, it just sits behind the starter? i just pull the starter, and i shuold be able to see it? thanks. |

Re: 2000 Intrigue...P0385 code
Yes it is directly under the starter. I think it is held in with one bolt if memory serves. If you didn't see the link to rockauto, they have the AC Delco sensor for $63 if you can wait for the mail. I understand if you needed it yesterday.
