Series 1 cold air intake

Hi, I was wondering where I could find a cold air intake (such as k and n) for a series I engine. Everything on ebay is for the series II.

Maybe, but it would be hard to tell without looking at it in person. Your best bet would be to retrofit your own. You can get a cone K&N filter off ebay fairly easily and suitable pipe at home depot.

Thx for the help

How would I fit my own?
Would it be as effective as the ones on ebay?

Re: Series 1 cold air intake

I've seen them made out of flexible plastic tubing for clothes dryers. The one I use is made out of flexible air ducting elbows (and then wrapped in tape to seal it). As for rubber connections, Autozone sells some that ought to work.

You will need to drill a hole and fit the air temp sensor into the pipe after the filter though or you'll run into trouble. Otherwise, it really isn't hard to do. I've got about $35 invested in mine since I lucked off and found a used K&N on Ebay

As for a cold air induction box, all you really need would be some sheet metal or even plywood. It isn't rocket science, as long as the box keeps the hot engine air from being sucked in by the filter youd should be fine.

The ones on Ebay just look pretty, but as long as you get everything sealed right, it'll be fine.

Man thats a pretty good price for the K&N filter itself. Hope everything works out for you well.
