What do you think of this srt?

http://www.findcars.com/a.php3?q=180224
Its about a half hour away from my house and I plan on going and test driving it in the next week but I wanted to get an expert opnion on what to look for and such. I'm not to big on buying an already modded car but it seems to be cheaper than most others that I've seen. It has kind of high miles or at least higher than I would like and it is an 03 so no lsd, would I notice that a whole lot? I dont plan on doing much if any dragging just the occasional highway run and I think I'd like to get into autox or something. Basically from what you can see does it look like a good deal? (I also hate the exhaust)

Re: What do you think of this srt?

Alrighty then:
The car looks resonable...The price is somewhat....high I guess to say. I would try to hangle them down to 11-12.5k area, 12.5 being the most I would pay for it honestly. I hope you are okay with it not having any crosshairs(the T in front of the intercooler that was removed) because it is an irreverable "mod." Now about that lsd, you aren't really going to feel a difference that much. A good buddy from Houston, also has a yellow one, making well over 400hp and running high 11's/low 12's with no lsd. Remember, the stock time differences between the 03 and 04 were what.... .1 of a second.
Next, downfalls I see.
1) The engine bay looks somewhat dirty and you might want to see about them power washing it before a potential purchase(well because they should have anyways).
2) That MSD ignition will need to be replaced back to stock asap of buying the car. Reason being because they weren't designed efficiently for srt's so they go out very quickly.

Things to look for upon test drive:
1) Check all your basics like clutch, tranny feel(it will feel a little notchy and be loud but that's how srt's are)
2) Look for any smoke in the exhaust(primarily white or blue).
3)Pull off the SRT4 cover and see what color the injectors are so then you will know what size you have.
4)Check those struts, make sure it's not lowered on stockers or a suspension upgrade may be called for within the next few thousand miles.
5)Check all 3 motor mounts, or at least the visible top and the one directly underneath it(below the belts) bottom. Look for cracking bolts and ripped mount material stuff(whatever that stuff is).

Overall the car looks good, if it feels right get it. Let me know how it goes!! And don't forget, you won't regret getting an srt, no crankwalk!!

Re: What do you think of this srt?

Yeah cw sucks. Thanks for the pointers. I'll try and talk them into the stock coil and maybe a stock exhaust or take extra off because fart cans on srt's dont belong IMO

Re: What do you think of this srt?

Well that is somewhat low mileage but I would still try to talk them down just a hair. Maybe not to 12.5k like I said previoulsy, I was thinking of higher mileage. Try for 13.0 or maybe 13.5k. If they won't budge then I would probably take the 13.9 for it. Because I kbb-ed it and got 15.4 for it so they are selling it for a reduced price.

Re: What do you think of this srt?

Well I test drive it today. It was pretty quick but had a few more problems. The drivers seatbelt wouldnt click in, and the front passeners side wheel was rubbing the fender but the rest was fine. The exhaust was pretty rigged to, held on with a hose clamp. It had an agp wastegate blue injectors rfl bov aem intake yellow cf hood and the rims and it looks like it has a xm antena also. I think the only way I'll get it is if I get my car back together and sold before the yellow one is gone. If they get everything fixed that is

Re: What do you think of this srt?

Well I am in the procass of putting the motor back together but SBR sent me two sets of main bearings instead of one main and one rod so I had to send them back and now I'm waiting for the new ones to come in and then its just a matter of throwing everything back together
