98 jetta code p1426
code will not erase need help with troubleshooting it. this is 98 2.0L. also i noticed that it leaks motor oil dont know if that will couse it pop a code p1426. the code is for open evap valve.

check the evap purge valve and see if it holds vacuum with a vacuum guage (1 side should hold the other wont)
Its under the intake hose next to the airbox
