Hot wheel

I have a 2001 Dodge Caravan. Had the front brakes done about a month ago and there doesn'ts eemtno be anything wrong that way. However it seems one wheel is a bit warmer to the touch than the other......could that be nothing or could it represent some sort of problem?/
many thanks

Re: Hot wheel

If it's not just from one side sitting in the sun longer then, yes it could be a problem. First thing that pops into view is dragging brakes on one side caused by a nonretracting caliper piston or slider pins that aren't slidding. Remove both wheels and compare brake pad thickness between the left and right side. If one side (the hot side) is thinner, that's a good indication of the problem. Does the car act like the alignment is out ie, does it pull towards the hot wheel side?

Thank you for the reply..there seem to be no pull towards either direction . either while driving or breaking. The particular wheel didn't seem outrageously hot but, to the tough, it WAS warmer than the other. Perhaps the piston iisn't retracting properly. I shall considere that option first. Again, I really appreciate input from people who know much more than I do about vehicles....I honestly am NOT mechanically inclined and also have a tendancy sometimes to worry more about things than would someone who "knows" cars.
