I currently have a 2000 Maxima and am looking to upgrade to a new (or newer) sedan. I have roughly $25k to spend. Any suggestions on what I should get?

define sedan cause the saturn ion redline techacally has 4 doors but 2 are like a extenden cab doors. and realibity there are saturns with over 200k if you take care of it. horsepower it can beat a acrura rsx type s. and personally i think it is a nice ass looking car.

Re: New (or newer) sedan for $25k
if it were me i'd go with a newer maxima, or a G35 sedan(which is what the newer maxima's should have evolved into).

Re: New (or newer) sedan for $25k
Previous model (E46 2000-2005) BMW 330i.
Reliable, handles brilliantly, fast, comfortable, looks good etc etc Should be able to find a 2004ish for that sort of money now.

Re: New (or newer) sedan for $25k
If you dont want to buy used, I'd recommend the 2006 VW Jetta GLI. Same motor that my car has, 200hp/207tq and same suspension, wheels, transmission, features...everything. Just 2 extra doors and a huge trunk instead of a hatchback. Plus you get 5 Star crash test rating. Safe happens.

Re: New (or newer) sedan for $25k
A sedan in the 25k range, I guess you want something new, or perhaps a year old.
You're gonna get the usual responses because well I guess the selection is limited. G35 Sedan (Especially if you're happy with your old Maxima) BMW 3 series (Tough to find a used E90 for 25k, but you can try) Acura TL Audi A4 Toyota Camry (But you'll be like alot of people on the road) |

Could also give the Acura TSX a go.
I'd imagine you can get them new for less than $25k. Do they have a Type S model (i.e. Detuned K20A Accord Euro R) in the States, though? That's the only TSX worth having, one with that motor.

Re: New (or newer) sedan for $25k
Those sounds like some great options. I'll have to check them out. If I were to look into the BMW 3-series, what model should I be looking at? There seem to be so many different models.

Re: New (or newer) sedan for $25k
The 325i is a really nice car, but the one you want to look at if one pops up in your price range is a 330i

Course he has Quattro so that saps some power and doesnt allow it to scurry as fast as the FWD ones, but in the corners it's heaven. Anyways, MkIV Jetta's have quality control issues. Had a friend have to go in a month after she got her Jetta to replace the power window motor. Stupid. W/the MkV's, the quality is definitely up. |

Re: New (or newer) sedan for $25k
To be different...Subara Imprezai or even the WRX! I've watched people take these things off road when traffics backed up on the interstate and they want to go to other side rides as some pick-ups do. Not to metion the safety in bad weather, very reliable etc. I wouldn't overlook one.
