Stalling problem 1990 Lebaron Conv., 3.0v6

I just bought the car from a co-worker this week...pretty rough stuff. I figured if the car ran well enough, I could deal with the cosmetics later. The problem I am encountering is a rough idle/stalling problem. At sundry, random times, the rpm's drop at an idle, getting rougher and lower until the car stalls. Restarting does not help immediately, but keeping the throttle elevated for a while, and driving eventually keep the car running. This is not a constant state, and I cannot say it is a cold engine problem , because it has occured on a warm engine as well as a cold engine. Dirty injectors? Fuel filter clogged? The car did run down low on gas...
If so, where is the filter on this fine automotive gem located?
Thanks in advance, and I will post more on my headlight switch/motor problem in a moment or two.

Jim

I'd check the trouble codes, anything?

I believe the fuel filter is on the passenger side rear. Follow the fuel line.

If you think the problem is idle related, check anything that has to do with idle, clean the throttle-body and idle-air passages, check the idle air control motor. How is your fuel pressure? Is the air filter clean?
